I was informed by a client yesterday that our printing was featured on the super popular "Oh So Beautiful Paper" blog! We did a really sweet save-the-date coaster with designer, Bill Coombs. Very cool and exciting to see our work shared on such a large scale. We greatly appreciate the kind words and we are so glad that everyone likes the piece! xo - DJL
We've been quite busy these last few months which has slowed down our regular letterpress blog posting. Now that the wedding season is backing off, I have a chance to start posting a lot of the fun stuff we've been working on. Here's a little letterpress calendar with a tiny bumble bee which was created for Janis and Johannes. The little bee rests just on top of the wedding date. Very cool and very Janis and Johannes.
Here's a quick pic of the recent letterpress save-the-date cards we finished for Matthew and Erin Sweet. Navy blue ink on Crane Lettra 110# Pearl paper. The calendar layout with the old style figures always prints so beautifully. Thanks for visiting the letterpress blog. Be sure to check us out regularly! - xo DJL
Spring is coming! Inquiries are starting to ramp up as the snow melts. Dick and Jane Letterpress has been busy working through the new year and into the wedding season. We've produced a number of birth announcements and location wedding invitations. Save-the dates have also been quite popular in the last months. We've been so busy in fact that we have somewhat neglected our letterpress blog maintenance. Many apologies for that. We are getting back to the task of regularly updating things so be sure to check back often for new designs and affordable letterpress wedding invitations. xo - DJL
Greetings all you charming letterpress people. Dick and Jane celebrated this 4th of July with the community of Saint Anthony Park. Each year local business owners and the neighborhood come together to celebrate Independence Day with a parade and good old fashioned fun. We rolled a proof press out onto the street and printed up free letterpress posters with the folks from the neighborhood. The image above shows a final print now hanging in the shop. Over the holiday we captured some videos documenting letterpress printing and our community. Check it out!
(above) Captured in this video is Katie Evans at Dick and Jane Letterpress. Katie is cutting down a big block of linoleum for the proof printing poster project for 4th of July, 2009! The posters will be printed on the recently refurbished Challenge proof press. It's a little bit of a departure from our regular letterpress wedding invitation printing but overall, it's good fun for the kids.
