will d&j print my artwork?

We sure do! We always enjoy the opportunity to help others translate their designs to print. You can visit our Design Guide for more info on how to submit your designs for print.

what about recipient addresses on envelopes?

What better way to finish off your stack of invitations than with the "where to" neatly printed on the front. Recipient addressing requires a variable data source like an excel document. We can custom design the fonts and color to match as well. All recipient addressing is produced digitally. The digital addressing requires a little extra time to complete so you should anticipate 1-2 days extra if you'd like to include this on your order.

does D&J offer foil stamping?

We're one of the best in the biz when it comes to foil stamping. We pride ourselves on our extreme attention to detail when it comes to this luxurious finish. We use only the absolute best materials for stamping in order to maintain a premium quality.

gold ink vs gold foil - what's the difference?

We offer gold inks and gold foil. The difference is pretty straightforward. Gold ink is a duller brown finish but stands out nicely. Think medium brown color with copper dust mixed in. Gold foil, on the other hand, is the highly reflective almost mirror finish. The same concept applies to silver inks vs silver foils.

printing white on dark paper?

Letterpress inks are semi-translucent (even the opaque inks). This means if we print white ink on navy blue paper, you won't really notice much of a difference. If you want a more "true" white, we recommend white foil. White foil is available in a gloss or matte finish and will stand up wonderfully on even the darkest of paper stock.

what kind of paper is best?

All letterpress wedding invitation jobs are typically printed on Crane Lettra stock. Lettra stock is available in multiple shades and multiple thicknesses. Foil printing will work with Lettra but we can produce better results with a harder paper. That said, in some instances we will use paper produced by the French family in Michigan or Mohawk in Wisconsin. (In my humble opinion) ALL the best papers are made in the Midwest!

Can folks visit the D&J studio?

You sure can! We're open from 9-4 on weekdays but we always encourage appointments whenever possible. We also book private appointments for couples and we offer studio tours to schools and businesses.

can D&J print posters?

Along with our larger precision printing equipment, we also house a mammoth Showcard "Full-Sheet Sign Master" deluxe which has the largest print area ever produced in a proof press. The max sheet size is just over 20" x 26" - we can print wood type or full polymer plates. Send us your request details and we will supply you with a quote!

what's up with workshops?

We do not offer any workshops scheduled at the moment but I'd venture to say it's likely coming soon.
